Vanessa Hudgens' representative has confirmed that a nude photo circulating on the Internet is indeed the 18-year-old star of Disney Channel's wildly popular "High School Musical" movies.
"This was a photo which was taken privately," said Jill Fritzo, Hudgens' publicist, on Friday. "It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public."
The photo shows the 18-year-old actress standing naked in what appears to be a bathroom, with a red shower curtain behind her.
The Disney Channel (part of the Walt Disney Co.) denied a published report that Hudgens will be dropped from the upcoming feature film "High School Musical 3." That movie is in development and negotiations with the stars are incomplete.
Disney had no further comment about the pictures.
Hudgens portrayed Gabriella, the brainy love interest of Zac Efron's basketball star in the first two "High School Musical" made-for-cable movies. The two are said to be dating in real life.
"High School Musical 2" attracted more than 17 million viewers for its Disney Channel premiere in August, the most-watched television program of the summer.

Instead of condemning her for a little private indiscretion the real focus should be the scum that "leaked" the picture for what gain? Revenge? Monetary?
Heck most "classic" nudes in most art galleries show more.

There is nothing wrong with Hudgens' nude photo. It is merely a glamour shot of a very beautiful young lady. If Disney plans to punish her then they better rethink their actions. After all Tim Allen did far worse things then pose nude before and during his tenure the the Disney company
This was something private, not done in public and not done provocatively. It's no sex tape or anything like that. It's sad that it's out, but I think she still is a "good girl"--she doesn't hit the club scene, doesn't dress indecently or act rudely/inappropriately in public. It's just unfortunate that something private was out in public. Think of all the nudity out there- Nicole Kidman in Cold Mountain, Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe in a new play where he's nude--this was a private moment. More importantly, HSM3 wouldn't be the same without her and she still plays her part well.
am not here to jugde you but to let you know that when your famous the way you are, think twice about doing anything that can ruin your reputation because there's alot of people who is watching you and who would do anything for money.
yeah i think this was a private thing to do and i think she shouldnt be punished. HSM3 would lose a lot of fans and kids will be affected by this too because she's such a big role model to them.. im ia fan and i hope she's not taking it too hard
I don't care if HSM3 like looses a lot of fans, if disney kicks her out. But look it liitttle kids will be loosing they're clothes if disney keeps her in! She's a role model to young kids. How is she going to be a role model with these things all over the internet. This is her fault. Being a disney channel star! Even if these were meant for private intensions.
